New Breakthrough for asthma and allergy sufferers.
Mites are microscopial spiders the size of 200u. In particular, Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus and Dermatophagoides farinae that are found in house dust are important agents responsible for allergic disorders. Dust mites feed on dead skin cells and approximately 2 million live in a single bed. One dust mite can live between 2-4 months and each female produces 20-50 eggs. Humans are most susceptible to inhaling the dust mite allergens while sleeping because of the long amount of time spent in bed and the close proximity to mites in bed linens.
Allergic Disorders due to Dust Mites.
Mites are the main responsible agents for perennial allergic disorders, such as rhinitis and bronchial asthma, and skin conditions such as eczema. The patients suffering are normally allergic to faecal pellets of mites, which are rich in allergens. After having identified mites as the cause of the allergic reaction of a patient, the treatment is mainly based on avoidance of mites (or the reduction of their numbers) is the procedure to follow in any case.
Statistical Data:
Approximately 25% of the world's population is affected by allergic disorders; most of these disorders are caused by inhaling allergens. Dust mites are the number one indoor allergen producers. One in every three children is in some way allergic to dust mite allergens. Uncontrolled environments can cause people to become exposed to allergens and therefore develop asthma, eczema, and allergies to other things such as pollen. Early prevention is the most important step.
How it works:
The Drontek Dust Mite Controller works by emitting a complicated range of acoustic ultrasonic sounds (not heard by humans or pets) when plugged in. these sounds interfere with the feeding and reproductive cycles of the dust mite immediately reducing the population of dust mites and the allergens produced (faecal matter). Allergy patient tests show a reduction of the symptoms
